I am a lover of wallpaper. I have a love, hate relationship with it. Mainly love. I love the way it can transform a room. I love that it is one of the oldest forms of interior decorating there is. I love the traditional patterns. The way it warms a room, creates interest and completes a classic design. SO imagine my glee when I found that Lowes is clearing out ALL there instock wallpaper and borders for $1 a double roll. Can you imagine the transformation you can create in a room? Damasks to create that formal elegant dining room you have always dreamed of! Plaids to take your plain walls from neutrals to Ralph Lauren wonderlands! Script wallpapers for your powder rooms? Oh yummy. So today I came home with 4 double rolls of plaid and 6 double rolls of a distressed green damask. All for the whopping price of $10! I mean I have no idea where I will put them! But if I lose the $10 I am okay with that. I actually have some real ideas rolling around in this never quiet brain of mine. They may just require more of the plaid....but hey I have only hit one Lowes and bought there supply of plaid. I have at least 3 more in my area that I know of. I am not above driving a bit for wallpaper! Now I am off to ponder the possibilities!

Score! My mom used to buy clearance wallpaper to wrap box gifts!!! Sounds like you got some great stuff; can't wait to see what you are going to do with it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a deal! I'm not much on wallpaper, having been traumatized removing TONS of 70's stuff from this house, but I love it in other peoples homes haha. Stop by when you get a chance, I have a little award for you. Kathy
ReplyDeleteOHHHhhh I know just the green damask you are talking about. I wanted to use it in my hutch but alas! There were no more rolls left. I had thought about covering some stretched canvases with this paper as artwork b/c the paper was so pretty. I think a series of these with a black letter added on top spelling HOPE or LIVE or something like that would be cute. Ok, I just got home from work (2d loooong day in a row) and I am sitting here thinking of projects for your wallpaper. I am a troubled woman. LOL Can't wait to see what you do - it will be grrrreat!
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm, not a big fan of wallpaper, BUT, we are in the process of redoing some furniture and wallpaper may just be the fix we need! Thanks for the infomation!

Hi I just came across your blog a few days ago and love all the ideas. I found you thru Beth's blog I Am Heading Towards My Destiny. I saw the pics you took of the snow storm and realized I live a few streets from you in the other subdivision. I actually walk past your house almost everyday. I love your all your ideas you shared so far. Thanks.

The first picture of the plaid. I have had that wallpaper in two of my homes and I loved it. Of course I love anything red. But it really looks wonderful on the walls. I just hate taking wallpaper down.

Hi KD...I hope you don't mind...I gave your Themed Thurs. a little plug on my blog! :-)...Debbie
ReplyDeleteWallpaper..yes..of course. I have a roll..I got somewhere right here on my desk next to my printer. Thats the truth..I sort of unpacked it from some box, laid it here and just left it. Wait, now I remember. I bought it on ebay..when it arrived the print was HUGE but the colors were beautiful. How can you throw an entire roll of wallpaper away? The roses on it are a very deep rose to a rose red. Moss green leaves..ah well.
ReplyDeleteI'll leave it there for another day or so. Maybe I can think of something. Wallpaper..what a GREAT idea.
One more thing..I just want to say that I have never papered a room in the past that didn't look SO much better. Everything in the room looked better. Then one day..someone said it was out of style. I was crushed. Now..years later here is someone who is young and..knows stuff..who says wallpaper is..GOOD! I am a HAPPY camper!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...can you hear the gnashing of my teeth? I purchased a similar plaid paper from Lowe's a few months ago & haven't put it up yet in my bathroom dressing area, but 2 rolls were over $75. I am happy you found this wonderful bargain, even though I'm crying...
ReplyDeleteLOL.. ;-) Bo
I can't wait to see what you do with your finds. Love the paper.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great bargain, at that price you can look at in rolled up in the rolls. lol I really look forward to what you create. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI love the wallpaper that you showed. I think I will check out my local Lowe's! That's a deal!
